Referencing ChatGPT: This New Feature Could Help

With its new “Share” function, users can now share conversations and those who access them can continue them. Furthermore, such continued-conversations are only visible to the person continuing the conversation, however, they can be shared further to others.

Step-by-step

  1. Click on a conversation on the left panel of ChatGPT.
  2. Click on the "share" button.
  3. In the pop-up window, click Copy Link

If you'd like to create a ChatGPT reference, here's a suggestion on how:

OpenAI. (2023, June 15). ChatGPT: A Generative Pre-trained Transformer Language Model (Version 4). Retrieved from https://chat.openai.com/share/5aef6c73-5d46-4f05-add6-fe3d9c558074

For in-text citation for single discussion on a specific date:

(ChatGPT, 2023, June 15)
